herpa's 1:1000 airport

I must say, even I'm not a fan of Herpaports, but their 1:1000 Terminal look nicer than their 1:500 terminal

But I think it is quite the same as the basic airport set of 1:500 scales

I'm not saying it is fantastic, but at least by the 1:1000 terminal the storefront look all glass like a modern airport, while by basic set 1:500 there are separated single windows which makes it look like 1960's apartment buildings! but of course both are far away from looking like a top architectural design

a modern airport usually should have an all see through or reflecting glass stroefront

considering the scale ... I think it's a whole lot better than the 500s

Gator, with your tendency to criticize absolutely EVERYTHING, from herpaports to milli's work, I suggest you either start providing us with examples of your work or stop your criticism.

I've criticized the design not the their working skills.......by the way I didn't always criticize, for example I said Muicini's work was fantastic, he really made an airport with a good architectural deisgn when he did the Johannesburg international

and without wanting to be arrogant but I think as a civil enginner who works in an architectur company, I have some understanding about how a modern building should look like....

but on your comment on my own work,I don't think someone who make comments on other people's model does necessary need to be a great modelmaker!!!since I usually only criticized the design of the buildings and not their modelmaking skills!!!someone who makes food critics is also not necessary a cook!

but to your question on my own model..... I'm right now designing the ground and position of buildings, I am also visiting some airports to get some ideas!!!!!

and later I will make some design on CAD software.... but I'll problly will need longer to build the real building since not every one who's good in design is necessary good at making a modell with plastic and paper..and I don't want to create something which look bad.......so I will take my time and first do some simple models to learn more on working with plastic and paper

well when you're building it, you can leave out the grey separation piece and use nail polish remover to get rid of the white lines. then you'd get the same result

They probably had to take this photograph with a microscope. Well I do like the terminals a lot better than that of the 1:500, but its not something to die for.

Your right about the 1/1000 Terminal. It looks so much more realistic than the 1/500 ones but look at that totally rubbish landing gear on those planes. Can you imagine the size of an ATR-42? It would be ablut 1/2 a CM!

You have to remember these are in 1:1000 scale. That's 1/2 the size of Herpas 1:500 scale models. It's hard to get every detail when you're working with an extremely small scale.
