Qantas A380 arrives in new livery.

Here is Herpa's latest offering - the QF A380 in updated livery. The pics as shown in W900 ID 16775 are now incorrect as Herpa released this model with the new livery in its place in December.

Some pics of the plane

and a comparison with the Skymarks version in the 90's livery.

Team - please feel free as always to use any of the pics in the database.

G'day Australia - this is great, but I still miss the great Flying Kangaroo of the Past

Re: Qantas A380 arrives in new livery.

We have had this discussion on DAC.

The bottom part of Wing Exit Doors seems to be missing on this Herpa A380.

Are they using the same mould and prints ?

I think that this model looks great with the new livery -- a livery which I like more than the old one.

You know, I was sure that my other 200 scale A380 was Hogan but I couldn't locate the box and because I didn't get a Hogan return on my database search I assumed it must be Skymarks. (It is definitely Hogan)

Perhaps it hasn't been added yet? Can anyone on the team help here?

With regards the Herpa, you are right. I brought this up also last year when Herpa released the QF A380 in 1:500 scale. I was very disappointed, given the cost of the model. It looks as though Herpa have done nothing about this shortcoming in all the intervening months between the 1:500 and 1:200 scale releases.

It does nothing for my confidence in Herpa for this scale...

It doesn't seem to me that it has been updated yet. I think they're working on it.

I was looking at the Herpa A380 1:200 scale at my local shop, it also have that door error thing, very tempting but it wasn't really appealing for me to buy it because of that small error, Call me picky, that 's just me.

Re: Qantas A380 arrives in new livery.

Qantas uses the space very well with the new Kangaroo... My only beef with the new design is where there is a bit too much exaggeration and the sharp angles... Overall, I like it...

Is this a good model. The cockpit windows look way too small. I'm thinking of getting one.

Re: Qantas A380 arrives in new livery.

apparently, QF paints plugged windows gray to make the windowline 'complete.' i was thinking the other day that herpa should have different paint colors for real windows and painted plugged windows.

on 1/200 hasegawas, real windows are represented by black window decals (or no decals). plugged painted windows have a dark gray decal.

Re: Qantas A380 arrives in new livery.

I'm sorry, I didn't understand a word of that. I'm fairly new to this. Are the cockpit windows too small though? I also don't even know if I can live with the door above the wing.....
