OK boys - in much better mood today and the Cougar is in MEL so I'm looking forward to catching up with him and Marty on Saturday.

For all you who need to exercise your "trigger fingers" - a little more of Belgium's favorite hostie -Natacha!!

Late reply, but great photos from the CX series, I was fortunate enough to see them being modelled at the show and I was fortunate enough to have the vintage models displayed to me by working cabin crew on the 8 CX flights I took while the CX cabin crew were wearing the old models. I saw all of the different uniforms live, and it was really interesting to see every crew member having a different uniform on your flight! My favourite was the arrivals and baggage reclaim hall in HKG, where floods of CX crew wearing the different uniforms strolled out with their wheeley suitcases, a great site, that made everyone in the airport look at them!!

I hope CX will have another surprise for their 80th anniversary, as I think thats the best effort by any airline to celebrate an anniversary. Here's what they did:

Commemorative Dolls - Displaying past and present uniforms
60th Anniversary website- with chance to win air tickets
Commemorative models
Cabin Crew wearing - vintage uniforms - Must have been very expensive!!!
Fashion Shows modelling vintage uniforms at 2 locations In Hong Kong
Mini Video explaining CX History at the beginning of every CX Flight
And im sure there is more....

The only thing they didnt do was paint a plane in a retro livery, but it was less than 10 years at the time since they had changed from their old green livery.

Thanks Jörg - so little time for reading these days...

I am not sure if it is one on my shelves or not - I did start collecting works on the topic a year or so back, but most of them remain unread for now. I will check it out.

Perhaps when I do win the lottery, I will spend a summer in Tennessee with Prof. Eherran and write the definitive work, and perhaps those manuals about living with women, and political correctness too!

Here's a radical perspective on femininity in flight...

Re: Air Hostesses

'Been a bit derelict in my duties this last week. Here's a retro moment, harking from the days when BOAC uniforms reflecting the national costumes of their destinations and ethnicity of their hosties.

I love those vintage pictures! Stewies really were somehow different in those days. But today it's still an interesting job for woman...
