Day 8 Beijing A momentous time in Olympics history with Michael Phelps of the USA breaking Mark Spitz's record haul of 1972 with 8 Gold Medals in the one games and a personal tally of 14 olympic gold medals. To commemorate the event, a stewardess from 8 different American airlines. Aloha  Northwest  NorthWest Orient  Jet Blue  PSA  US Airways  United Airlines  Continental Express  And as a special bonus to Captain Wahoo, and in special recognition for the USA coming second to China in these games, a pic from one more airline... No photo's,but i've just watched the Russian pole volt gold medalist recieve her medal,and when the national anthem was played she was in tears.To me that sums up the Olympics.

Did you know I am half Lithuanian? In fact there is quite a large population of Lugans in Chicago. Marquette Park was where they all lived once upon a time.

Today represents the last day of medals in the Games of the 29th Olympiad. There have been scores of memorable moments and outstanding performances. Sorry to all those who have not scored a gurnsey here over the last 2 weeks. Today we remember the effort of Italy's Roberto Cammarelle who took gold in the Men's Super Heavyweight Boxing on the last day of competition. Italy's national carrier - Alitalia  I have enjoyed the format and plan to catch up with those other nations that took gold during the Games over the nest week or so...
