It was a good race and great finish. I was hoping that the Aussie would have enough legs but Dirty Sanchez got up in the end

Beijing Olympics 2008

The first new world record set by a woman at the Games was for the 400m swimming individual medley by Australian, Stephanie Rice. It is her first Olympics - perhaps her "virgin" olympic games....

Accordingly, today's airline is Australia's Virgin Blue!

Very parochial of me I know, AND I am aware that the first world record broken at the games goes to Michael Phelps of the USA in the men's final of the same event - it's just that I think I will need pics of 8 different US airlines before he is through!

Re: Air Hostesses

Was a great swim Doc..... I think it's going to be a bit harder for the Aussie's this time around. There are the usual favourites' ,but also quite a growing number of dark horses. She should be very, very proud .
By the way....that is a 737-800 . The first time I ever travelled on that aircraft was to see the boys at the Sydney model show a couple of months ago. I had a window seat...wife had the aisle.... Could not believe the size of the winglets, nearly 2m high .

Re: Air Hostesses

Word has it that VH-VOG was a B737-800 once upon a time ago...

Then this hot blonde hostie got too close and the next thing you she was a B737-800W with a 2m wingtip erection!

OMG!!! And I thought this was going to be a quiet but interesting little way to tie in the Olympics with a diversity of airlines' hosties.... (should that read hotties?)

Re: Air Hostesses

Watch out for Mighty Moss Burmester ( Men's 200m Butterfly ), first Kiwi to make any Olympic swimming finals since Dayon Loader ( One of my many childhood heroes) in Atlanta, 1996. Moss won Gold in the Commonwealth games, in 06. But of Course a certain individual called Micheal Phelps wasn't invited!

In all honesty I think the Olympics deserve their own thread.

Beijing Olympics 2008

Clean Sweep! Korea took gold in the team archery for the 3rd olympics in a row and the Korean women's team did even better with their 6th straight gold!!! Korea has been sitting 2nd on the medal tally for the first 2 days of competition.

In tribute, Korean Airlines.
