Re: Air Hostesses

DING! (Flight attendant call button)

(Captain Wahoo) "Hello Julie!"
(F/A Julie) "Hi Captain, did you guys want a drink up there?"
(Captain Wahoo) "Yeah sure, I'll take a Coke and could you bring me a bag of peanuts too?"
(F/A Julie) "Ok, Frank did you want anything?"
(F/O Frank) "I'll have the same thing Brian's having, can't go wrong having whatever the captain's having right?"
DING! (Captain Wahoo flicks on the annunciator panel test switch)
(Captain Wahoo) "Oh hey Julie! We just got a "speed of heat" light up here. We're gonna need you to check each window to see if it's hot. These ATR's go pretty fast at 25,000 feet and sometimes we can exceed the speed of heat."
(F/A Julie) "Is it anything serious?"
(F/O Frank) He's trying to laugh without being heard.
(Captain Wahoo) "No we just have to see if the windows are getting hot, if they are we'll need to slow down a little. So on your way up just reach over and touch each window and then you could tell us if the feel hot."
(F/A Julie) "Ummm...ok."

F/O Frank makes his way back to the cabin/cockpit door to peak through the peephole. He sees F/A Julie reaching across each passenger touching the window then shaking her head "No".

F/O Frank comes back and sits down laughing so hard he can barely see straight. F/A Julie comes up to the cockpit with our sodas and peanuts. The rookie F/A says...

(F/A Julie) "All the windows were cool."
(Captain Wahoo) "Oh that's good. Yeah the light went out as you were coming up here."

When we were on break in the crew lounge in Chicago, F/A Julie was talking to one of her friends who is a more senior F/A and tells her about the "Speed of heat" light and having to check all the windows. Her friend laughs and said..."There is no such thing as a "Speed of heat" light!"

I got a nice slap from my rookie F/A that day!

Re: Air Hostesses

I remember we had a male F/A who used to have perfect hair and used to pinch his cheeks to give them a "glow". All the ladies used to hit on him he used to tell us, but he wasn't interested. Hmmm...

From the looks of your new signature the world has another great philosopher... Socrates, Plato, Descartes, Nietszche, Wahoo - real Who's Who of thinking men's men.

You think so?

When I flew the Shorts 360 as an F/O I learned that when the captain opened his side window just a little it provided a pressure bump in the back. Remember the Shorts 360 is an unpressurized aircraft.

We had a male flight attendant one time and we weren't real thrilled he was flying our trip. In an effort to get someone else, hopefully a female, my captain would lift the handle and just slightly open his window every so often. We got a call from our flight attendant during the flight that he was starting to get air sick and we should call ahead on the company radio to get a new flight attendant. We did get a new F/A. It was another male F/A.

Re: Air Hostesses

Ha ha ha!! Serves you right but it was worth a shot.

I need you to post a pic of a Simmons Airlines hostie as I cannot find any. I have got a couple of American Eagle but not very appetizing I'm afraid.
