Doc i have to call you out on this one! I flew to the Dominican Republic with FCA. The hosties looked like a 767 had eaten a couple of 737's!!

I had blocked out the pain until now

The fifth one from the left in the First Choice picture looks really 'tangoed'... she looks sour and mardy. LOL

Re: Air Hostesses

Wow! Who would have thought the First Choice girls (a misnomer perhaps?) could stir up so much comment. I do have more pics of them but perhaps best I shelve them for a while lest I make furry ill ...

Today I wanted to share an unusual photo from 1956. It features hosties from a number of airlines within a Boeing Jet Stratoliner mock-up, housed in a an office building in New York. The airliner was not scheduled to go into passenger service until 1959 and ultimately became the iconic B707.

Re: Air Hostesses

Not sure whether these hosties are the real McCoy or just for publicity purposes for the launch of the Sukhoi SuperJet. Many aircraft manufacturers DO employ cabin crew that perform usual inflight duties onboard for potential buyers.

Very good Furry!

I was going to save this one up for May 1, but this year sees Thai Airways celebrating its 50th anniversary since its first flight from Bangkok to Hong Kong on 1 May, 1960. One of the B747-400's (HS-TGP) has been painted in the original Royal Thai Airways colours and the airline will have their cabin crew dressed in the original 60's uniform for the re-enactmentof the flight. They will also be publishing 2 books on the history of the airline which I will be sure to get. Thai is one of the most photographed airlines for their cabin crew, not least for their beauty, but also for the varied and stunning uniforms they wear. I would have several hundred images in my library already!

The official announcement was back last week.

What a great selection of retro uniforms!

Plus a couple of vintage shots to round the post out...

Happy Birthday Thai Airways.

Don't be sorry - they are a stunning set of pics and I will have no trouble finding more for May 1. I think I owe you for the First Choice pics. I subsequently read somewhere that the FCA uniforms were voted by a FA forum as the worst uniform ever! (I have not posted pics of the pink, white and green blouses yet) - but that gives me an idea for tomorrow
