Re: Air Hostesses

Thank you Daniel - they are some great shots. Never seen TRIP before! I do have a lot of South American photos to share, including some from Brazil. Would you mind if I made a photomontage of the pictures you have posted to share here?

Re: Air Hostesses

The Kenya Air Force operates 3 Dash-8's, a Fokker 70 and several Harbin Y-12 aircraft in a VIP transport role. The president is also flown aboard Puma helicopters. The KAF has had issues with it's ageing fleet and maintenance. One of the Y-12's was lost with 14 diplomatic fatalities, including a Cabinet Minister.

Within the KAF, cabin crew are known as Crew Attendants.

I know, I know.

Photos are now being uploaded - I took quite a lot and many to sort through and edit. Stay tuned - it IS coming!

The Argentine Air Force or Fuerza Aérea Argentina (FAA) has operated passenger services to general public of the wide-flung areas of Patagonia since 1940. It provides the service Línea Aéreas del Estado (LADE), literally the State Airline via the 1st and 9th Brigades. The airline has recently upgraded some services from Fokker F-27's to the newer SAAB 340. The stewardess uniforms are a little reminiscent of those previously worn by cabin crew on Aerolineas Argentina.

Re: Air Hostesses

The Peruvian Air Force, or Fuerza Aérea del Peru (FAP) operates a B737-500 in VIP configuration as well as additional -200 series as transports. Like other South American nations, Peru's air force also provides low-cost commercial transport for its citizens, utilizing such aircraft as the Antonov An-32B.

Here is the crew of the VIP B735.

Unfortunately, not all the information cited in that report is correct. Although it has been a LONG time coming, getting around to completing my little summary of a history of air hostesses - I do eventually hope to post more on this topic.

Thanks for throwing up the link, though.
