It's quite clear to me that the upstanding gentleman in question is just checking the young ladies name tag. He's doing this because he wishes to thank this young lady personally for her great concern later in the evening after he recovers from his life threatening ilness

BTW - Hef had seatbelts installed on his circular bed (one of 12 beds aboard, I understand) so that he wouldn't have to get out during take-off or landing.
