Virgin Atlantic responded by placing the British flag on the front of all their planes as well as the byline "Britain's national flag carrier". The new CEO of BA caved in in 2001 and announced the fleet would be repainted in the current Chatham Dockyard version of the Union flag so as not to dilute the British identity that was recognised and valued by its traditional customers.

A few names the Welsh tail could have had really.... "Sheeprider", "Sheep and Trees", "Crossing Sheep" or even "Sheep Dreaming"!!!
If Maggie and the CEO were so worried about the BA Tails why didn't they return to the
Landor livery instead of the insipid Chatham!!
