Re: Database & MyCollection - What do you want to see?

It may be that this function is already available and that I am too neanderthal to work it out but I would like to sort my collection according to airline>scale>manufacturer. At present I can sort to 2 levels but not 3.

Would it be unrealistic to have thumbnail link to a photo of custom models if they have had a picture submitted in standard format to the database? It would be interesting to see other collectors customs.

I like Eherrans idea of being able to select which columns to display. If this were available, might it be possible to add a column for total cost which could be used to track actual purchase price of models? One of the initial strengths of this website when I first joined was the utility with which one can manage one's fleet. Whilst accepting FD's point on "ticket price" as an indicator to other collectors of unit cost, it would be useful for me to know, as a collector, how much I actually spend on my models including postage (significant for those of us outside the US) and international currency fluctuations.

In the search and add function, could a "multiple" function be added so that when more than one of the same model is purchased it could be entered "x3", "x2" etc. so that the whole process doesn't need to be repeated? (Useful for fleet builders and those stocking up on base models for conversion of for eventual sale or trade)

And a question: if I tick "private model" and my collection is enabled to be publicly viewed, can others see that model or does it simply mean that it is not earmarked "for sale or trade"?
