Some interesting answers from Herpa

Here is something I spotted on the Herpa website recently and referred to in other posts. The questions asked were in German but the answers were in English and German. The answers from the Herpa Wings Team were
Quote:
(1) The DC-9 types had become longer and longer over the years. Therefore, can't simply go and use an MD-87 fuselage for a DC-9/30 without being called nasty words.
(2) The MD-8X series will most probably only be released as new generation in 2003.
(3) The DC-8 is in the planning, but not firmly scheduled yet.
(4) The A340-500/600 should finally be released in December.
(5) The noses of the A320 family are currently revised, and we expect new samples in August. That will mean an end of the chubby-cheeked "bear noses" which will soon be history.

That to make a DC-9 there are numerous versions and that it is different then an MD-87 so they would have to make a new moulds.

Looking forward to the NG release of MD-8x series aircraft! Could that mean some AA MD-80's are in the works?
