I might be wrong, but if you go to Airliners.net on the 'Aircraft Data & History' section it sais that it is called an A380-800. This is a quote from there:
''Several A380 models are currently envisaged: the baseline 555 seat A380-800; the heavier, longer range A380-800R, the A380-800C Combi, A380-800F Freighter (max payload of 160t), the stretched 656 seat A380-900 (with DOCs per seat 20% lower than for the 747-400), and the shortened, 480 seat A380-700.''

Well Airbus says:
BIGGER IS BETTER! Boeing says: FASTER IS BETTER! Why not combine the 2 concepts? HerpaWings and StarJets says: WE DONT CARE WHICH IS BETTER, JUST GIVE US AIRCRAFT TO MAKE!

I asked them if a A318 was all first class how many people it would seat and I got: Thank you for your question via www.airbus.com, which has been received here at Airbus headquarters in Toulouse. Our general rule is that we do not response to aircraft performance related issues raised by visitors to the Airbus public web-site. Procedures and standards differ between aircraft tail numbers even of the same series, customer options and daily practise amongst Airbus operators. Hence, we are reluctant to offer potentially operational information without personal familiarisation of an actual operation. Our apologies for not being able to response directly at this time, however should you be able to forward more details about the background of your request, we may be in a position to assist further. Yours sincerely, HD - Airbus Marketing ----------------- Operating info!?!?!?! I asked about the amount of passengers that could fit on the plane!!!!!! geez (this was before 9-11) FL

Obviously your response from Airbus was the automated/prepared reply. Unless you're a customer, meaning willing to buy a REAL airplane, they won't bother with individual's curiosities. Airbus and Boeing's a big, big corporation who doesn't need the average consumer to survive. They just need other big, big companies to invest and buy their product. But really, you should ask that on a forum, and please don't start a new thread on this 1:500 forum.

The first A380 will not fly until 2004. The first aircraft should begin to take shape next year in Toulouse with components arriving from all over the world. First metal was cut earlier this year. The first airline delivery is not until early 2006 as far as I know. We can expect the first Herpa in late 2003 / early 2004 in Airbus colours! Last edited by EI-DUB; 07-03-2002 at 05:12 PM. |

Yeah I doubt it is a Herpa. They would usually wait for the real plane to come out in real life before they actually make the mould and eventually the model.
Probably a C & C |
