There's also the Herpa Evergreen B747 and Korean Expo B747. They're not much to look at, IMO, but are generally pricey and rare to come across in a collection.

It depends on if you're looking for rare in the number released (like 500, 1000, 2000, etc.) or just rare to find (which is usually the same thing.) There are lots of fantasy models that are rare due to low-rlease numbers, but not everyone likes a modified regular livery with special markings on it (like ILA 98 LTU MD-11 or Korean Expo B747) or a livery that never flew on a plane (Farewell to Kai-Tak L1011).

I've only had one Korean Expo availbale to me in four years of collecting (and I couldn't pass it up) and two MTU sets (which I did missed), but Evergreen, Danzas, Mars, Kalitta, and Cathay oc B747s and Korean A300s and lots of older W1/B1 Herpas show up now and then on a somewhat regular basis. While certainly rare, they aren't too difficult to find (the only difficulty is getting them at a price you're willing to pay since most were bought when they were going for sky high prices... everyone remember $350 Saudia oc L1011's... now they don't go for over $125 due to SJ.)

You might also go looking for samples of airlines that Herpa has decided not to produce and isn't planning on making anytime in the near future.

With this sum of money, I think you should consider how to invest it rather than just spend it.

I have to agree with Tokyo on this one. I've heard of alot of people that win the lotto and spend all their money and then go back to what they were doing before.
