I asked one of my retailers (BUCHAIR USA) if they sold any bigbird models and this is the reponse he gave me:

Now, that's a big story. They are made illegally, without any licence by nobody knows who. All the shipments to the USA were seized by US customs and will not be allowed for sale. As I'm told, a few samples leaked and are being sold with inflated prices. So to make it short, there will be no Bigbirds (In the US) at all.

Although the info avobe is true, some retailers do sell BB models so I guess we will continue to purchase them as long as we are able to get them (hopefully always!!!)

What do you think of this?

well, even the usa retailers don't sell bigbird, collectors still can get it from ebay or other sources like the sell and trade forum.
there won't be a great change i believe.

Yes they can get it on ebay but almost at triple the price!!!!! so that is not that cool

I know who htey are made by. Only the Ansett 744s in the US shipment got confiscated thus making the result of their being sent back to HK or China or wherever they came from. There are NO samples being sold that I personally know of and all that are out are the regular releases. I know that Jetcollector, CAM USA, and a few others are currently selling the BigBird models. Not sure where you got your info but it is not quite accurate.

Was it the Ansett Blue or the white one?

If you look hard enough you will find, it was the first original white one and CAM is somewhere in Washington.

Well I don't know anything, I just started getting involved in the whole BB collecting and I just ordered my first one, a JAL 747 family, hope it's worth it!!!

BigBird, the company does not have a website. But, CAM of Seattle did have some remaining yesterday when I was there.
