aa928,
I have been to Boeing Field more times than I can count!
I also live next to Paine Field where the Boeing 74,77,76 are built ( I live 1/4 of a mile from the end of the runway). I get to see aircraft taking off for the very first time and after the test flights I see them leaving home for there new destination. Sometimes never seen again. It is cool to see liveries that never fly here in the U.S.

Unhappy

Sorry Mohpu!!! I didn't mean to steal it from you. Does anyone know of a source for the Air India logos? Maybe we could each have one that's different from the other?

Also, about those two models...I've been trying to keep in touch with Andy Anderson regarding the options, but it seems like it takes quite a while for him to reply to me lately. I last emailed him nearly 3 weeks ago!!!! I'll try again today and hopefully hear from him.

Flight Director, if you can be of any help getting in touch with Andy, I would greatly appreciate it. I'm still waiting on an alternative resolution to the two models that were promised to the paid members.

Swami,
I've been in touch with Andy, the models to Wings500 members are coming, it may be a little bit yet. Most likely by summer. Don't worry, I want to make sure all old members are taken care of.

aa928,
Yep good thread!! Now what model are you looking for? the Braniff 747SP or the Korean Air 747SP.. those are the only ones that Andy released under Wings500..

FD

I meant the one that is being released in summer, the one with the leather box, etc... in 1:300 scale, I want it but I wasn't a wings500 member.

thanks

Oh wow, i think i need to write a Wings900 history..

the answer is here: http://www.wings900.info/faqs/wings900faq.html

and here: http://www.wings900.com/newsdata/goldmembers.html

but i'll write something here.. Andy Andresen started Wings500 in 1997...a site dedicated to 1:500 models.. parts of the site were free, parts were paid membership. For paying into the membership you also got a model, Andy had 2 made, the Braniff 747 SP and Korean Airlines 747SP. In mid to late 2001 Andy retired from Wings500 and turned it over to the team that runs the site now. The name was switched to Wings900 to show 1:500 and 1:400 support, and the Team took over officially in October 2000. Server was moved from Germany to the USA in Feb 2002.
