Angry A potential masterpiece ruined...once again.

Ciao to all.
I collect everything since 1996, but the models i really love and can't live without (from the collecting point of view, of course) are not so many; SAS B737-800 is one of them, Livingston A330-200 another, Neos, Thomson, Monarch some others...The Transaero Tu-214 was one of the models i was waiting for many years (and i wonder how many collectors were waiting for this amazing model)! I was really excited when Herpa has decided to produce it and, looking at the other Tu-204/214 already produced, the result would have been nice. On the contrary...a real disaster!
I don't know why, but Herpa has the capacity to realize incredible disasters!
The Transaero Tu-214 is ruined, and just because of the cockpit windows. Someone at Herpa should be fired!

Please look what, wrong cockpit windows, can create in a model! This is a Frankenstein model, and the nose section seems completely wrong.

Compared with the Red Wings Tu-204

Already sent a mail to Herpa asking a Transaero Tu-214 re-release with the correct cockpit windows.

The entire management team? It does not take much to make a print programming error; it takes more to misprint (and ruin) a whole production batch due to lack of controls and it takes even more to sell this clearly faulty products to the unsuspecting costumer.

Re: A potential masterpiece ruined...once again.

Herpa ruins potential masterpieces all the time. Just look at the 747 NGII...
Anyway, talking about the Tupolev: what a shame. What a freakin shame.
I'll buy this one and change the cockpit windows. But that's only because I was really looking forward to have this model. Otherwise, I wouldn't buy it. It looks terrible.
Not only the cockpit window, but the childish gear. Herpa never corrected these awful gears.

"E daje Ale", it's time to start to use a little bit of acetone and put a decent decal un your new TU-214, bring it with you at the MGL meeting,I'll resolve your problem!

Ahahahah, you're right my friend.
Positive rep. added but just because you're more similar to a "romano" then to a "milanese"!

Re: A potential masterpiece ruined...once again.

Anyone would agree - a disaster and considering prices now charged. simply beyond any quality acceptance, but face it - they (Herpa) appear to not even care and writing them generally does not even result in a reply - they seem to consider themselves beyond, us just being some troublesome lot of no importance. In this case suggest writing not Herpa, but the very self-concious airline, pointing out how producer mishandled their license. In general, let's go for the airlines rather than Herpa. Airline licenses are more importantant (Herpa shall learn) than disillusioned collectors like us. Miscoloured, mishandled, misinterpreted models are becoming ever more common - has anyone once received an excuse? A refund? A corrected replacement? Or does anyone know of a re-call of one of their errornious releases? Probably not - so there we have it.

Re: A potential masterpiece ruined...once again.

I feel for you guys! I really do...(still haven't finished fuming over the horrible job Hogan did on their most recent Eva Air 777)

I don't know too much about this particular aircraft, but I hope some of you have success in salvaging something with new cockpit windows. To be honest I'm not sure even that can help too much as the casting itself will always retain that awkward shape.

Good luck!

Claudio, partly agree and partly disagree. While I see also Responses from HErpa on issues and proposals I agree it can be a lot more and a lot better. There should be something like a "red telephone" for emergencies.

However, and that you should also take into consideration...if you bought it and dont like it, give it back. I have returned back a lot of models coz of less obvious issues to the retailers...this is MY right as a buyer and no matter what they to, that remains.
I am not forced to buy and Keep it...

It's sad to see Alessandro. I agree - a total mess up on what could have been a nice model.

Be patient guys, last word is not yet spoken and I am pretty confident that Herpa will consider a second production batch seriously.

They definetely know about the issue as such.
