Re: 3D Printing

Keep in mind some people might want more than 1 model especially custom-makers!

Very true, I guess the sales of the Saab will set the tone for the rest of the models.

Re: 3D Printing

Just a quick note to everyone to say thanks for the votes on the poll so far. Its very encouraging. As I said please let us know the GSE wishlist so we can start a separate poll for those parts. Also for the 1/400 requests. Anything we make in 1/500 can be scaled up so please send a private message if you have other scale requests to keep this forum strictly 1/500. Thanks everyone.

Re: 3D Printing

I say with GSE, just your common GSE. Tugs, cater trucks, gas trucks, luggage, belt loader. That kinda stuff.

Here's a list of stuff I would like to have.

-Tugs
-Catering Trucks
-Pallet Dollys
-Cargo Containers
-Fuel Truck
-Generator
-Container Loader
-Lavatory Truck
-Belt Loader
-Winter Vehicles

Good one. I think a similar version of Herpa's Airport Accessories I in 1:500 would be very needed and would sell a lot.

But I still think bizjets and GA planes would also sell a lot

A Herpa version with more stuff in the package. Like, bulk GSE.

And I still want those aircraft. Bluegrass Airport has a lot of business jets and GA.

Yeah! Later, we have to make a deal about the aircraft types to come in the GA/Bizjet package. Because it would be a mess if someone simply said ''hey, I want a Cessna'', and another one ''hey, put a Baron on it'', ''put a Maule'', ''put a Mooney'', etc etc

I made my list trying to remember a few of the GA planes I see at my home airport.

Re: 3D Printing

LEX sees everything.. So I'm up to anything. Lol.

I'd love to have a Gulfstream G550.

And with the pack, I'd like to see numerous in one pack.

3 x Model in any one material - €30 (approximate)

(as you can see its almost the same price to order 1 as to order 3 as the printing companies charge a start up fee for every order so buying three at the same time is cheaper than buying them separately).
Let me ask one more time, while English for me is not native language.
If I will order 1x model (FUD material), than it will cost me €20.
If I order 3x models (FUD material), than it will cost me €30.
Am I right? And making 3 model will not affect the quality of the product?

Regarding your last question, I will say "Yes". Custom makers will order more than few models.
You have only to remember that for customizing the model it is always better to have it in separate parts: fuselage, wing (or two wings if attached separately), stabilizers and gears. Good if engines could be also made separatly. Of course all elements have to be easy to erect without any (or minor) signs of connecting.
By customizing the biggest problem is the protection/covering of the elements for spray application of paint. Sometimes is a nightmare.

Printing more than three at the same time would compromise the quality but less than three would not. With regards the customisable planes I think we need a definitive set of parts for the Saab, would you be able to help with that?

@ 3DPrinting: Tomek answered before me what I was about to say. And I add: The quantities also depends for the orders I can have, the degree of difficulty of making the custom models, the choice of the liveries and, because I don't design my own decals, for what I can find on the market. As far I know there's no SAAB 200 decals available, so one of my voted planes was the Bae 146.

The best would be fuselage, stabilizers, wings and smaller details such as props and landing gears all separated. The fin could be acceptable as one piece with the fuselage. In this fashion it's easier to mask and paint parts with different colors.
