A thread for samples owners.

Hi to all. I know that there are many members who have some Herpa samples: these airplanes are very rare and it is pratically impossible to find them, except for those knowing some Herpa employees or for who is so lucky to have the opportunity to visit Herpa factory during some summer and winter opening days. I aksed to Mr. Borgmann how to catch some samples (i was interested in the MyTravel B757-200, for example), and he told me that it is nearly impossible.
With this thread i give you the opportunity "to make you hate me" and to envy all your sample models!
I think that the friends and collectors who have samples are very lucky and their collection is very important and exclusive, because they are rare and very expensive; rarely we see samples photos in Wings900 forum, maybe because you are so jealous of your jewels that you don't want to share with us.
For all those having sample models, please: show your airplanes, it will be a great occasion to show and share something of really rare, interesting and precious!

Re: A thread for samples owners.

Great thread idea Charter! Why don't you post your rarest sample for everyone to see and I am sure the rest will follow!

Sorry, but I have no samples to post

You can find some in the database. Search for Herpa items with a part number "0". Nobody but Herpa knows all that were ever made. Of course there are several samples of all models that were produced, but there are also plenty that never made it into production for various reasons such as the KAL A380.

Anyway... I'm posting (quick and dirty) photos of two beauties I acquired at this year's Christmas market. They are not in the database (yet).

What do you have to pay if you buy samples there? I would like to know that because I would like to buy samples, too.

Depends on where you buy them. eBay: $300+. Herpa, from what i've heard: €99.

About 8-15 € for samples that were ultimately produced; 80-100 € for samples that were never produced. At every Christmas and summer party, Herpa pick some (excess?) samples from their archives and offer them for sale, typically 5 or 10 years old. You can't pre-order or ask for specific samples.

Re: A thread for samples owners.

I wish I had samples! I have a rare German 4-set of planes which were produced in 500 units but almost all of them were given to the company? Should I post that or is this thread only for sample.

Please post elsewhere. This thread is about pre-production or never-produced samples. Thank you.

My comment/answer is for both (also if Aeropostale B737-300 is OG, but it was the previous name and livery of Europe Airpost):

AAAAAAAARRRRRRRRGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!:twist ed:
I really envy you!
Thanks for posting your samples: the Air Europa B737-400 "Queen" is unexpected, i did not know Herpa released this sample. Simply beautiful.
I'm realizing i'm living in a "wild" country, for everything and also from the collecting point of view!
