Hi friends. After many years of collecting (16 years), i want to do a tribute to what i consider the best manufacturer of 1:500 scale: Star Jets.
We can find defects and mistakes also the their models but, undoubdetly, Star Jets models were (and are) the state-of-the-art of 1:500 scale collection! If you look at the details of the fuselage, at the perfect moulds of airplanes as the A320/321, the MD-80 (really perfect, also the landing gear) and the MD-11, at the different liveries from all over the World (Air Tahiti Nui A340-300, for example), you can not disagree with me; maybe manufacturers as Inflight500 and Sky500 have nice models, but what Star Jets has produced until its demise is something of unrepeatable. Of course Star Jets can't compete with Herpa variety, but only because it is not more existing since many years: i remember when Star Jets produced 5/6 models bimonthly, and they were MODELS, they were MINIATURES worthy of the name! I was happy and proud to spent my money for that airplanes, a pleasure for the eyes of each collectors, even the most demanding.
I wonder how many and which models it would have produced up to now: some exotic liveries, some charter airlines (Thomas Cook and V-Bird A320 are Star Jets models), more perfect MD-11's and, why not, new moulds as the A330-200, the B767-200 and -300, the Tu-154...who knows.
By the way, let me finish to check the photos and...this wonderful through the perfection can start!
