Re: [Member Model Review] Philippine Airlines 777-36NER by PPC
Great work, thanks for sharing.
Only a question: on your third thread there is a photo of the B777 nose: is it strange or it is my impression?

Re: [Member Model Review] Philippine Airlines 777-36NER by PPC
Some followup photos:
A comparison of the Sky500 and PPC gears. The Sky500 main gears have better struts. However, the wheel dowels are rather rudimentary and the rubber tyres have a tendency to slide off (red arrow). PPC has a better tyre assembly, but the struts are rather large and crude.
I also noticed that the Sky500 cargo doors share a similarlity in form to the PPC cargo doors (yellow arrow).
Here we see the details more closely. The cargo door outlines are exactly the same! However, the other details are different. You can see that Sky500 has more details (silver and black dots and whatever shapes).
And Sky seems to have gotten the correct passenger door details. The PPC doors look as if they have too much red.

Re: [Member Model Review] Philippine Airlines 777-36NER by PPC
My friend Austrian Airlines told me a news i did not know (i have his permission to share it with you): there is a connection between PPC and Herpa, because PPC produces Wooster models for Herpa.
I have not received an answer from hikouki but, according to the photos, it seems something of wrong on the nose of PPC B777 (it seems to be more like a "missile" than a B777 nose).

I think he already acknowledged the funny nose several times:

I agree that the misshapen section 41 detracts big time from this model. But overall, I agree with the reviewer in saying this is STILL a great model! Great details, great shape, and great price! The imprints and engines, for me, really elevate the overall quality of this model.

Aviation Megastore shows an item for retail soon:
AviationMegastore.com
It is branded as Megawings. Can anyone confirm the registration? From the small photos, it looks like it carries a different reg - maybe RP-C777 6 instead of RP-C777 7?

I would just like to ask fellow PAL collectors if its good to get the Herpa PAL B777 if you already have the PPC PAL B777, Is it worth getting another PAL 777? What do you think?

Re: [Member Model Review] Philippine Airlines 777-36NER by PPC
Good day guys! First, I would like you all pardon me for my little knowledge about collecting die-cast aircraft. I currently have a really tiny "collection" (five only) right now and were all not of good quality as what hikouki and the rest of you guys have, hehe. In speaking of hikouki, I would like to commend him for a real nice review (you have keen, observant eyes, hehe).
With this, I just would like to ask some questions, here are they:
- Where specifically can I buy PAL and Thai Airways plane models (A330, A340 and B777) produced by Herpa, Sky500 and PPC?
- How much would they (each variant) cost?
Thanks and hope to see more of your collections!

Re: [Member Model Review] Philippine Airlines 777-36NER by PPC
I believe Philippine Airlines sells some models as duty free. The Herpa 744+343 set costs USD28 nowadays, and the PPC 77W is USD22. I was told by a Pinoy collector that if you go to that store in Makati, the Herpa set costs PHP2800 (USD60)!!!
You can search ebay for the TG models.
