They usually make the one with the most number of votes first. Well, sort of. At least the one with the early lead. Anyway, I never imagined this being that popular among the mostly German members of the Club. I was thinking we'd get the BA 772 or the Finnair retro ahead of the rest.

And I'd be really surprised if those two don't make it to the top 3. Anything beyond the top three/ four I guess is not guaranteed a spot. Herpa doesn't know how to count Club Models.

This will save them some Euros as the small models mean less metal.

D#mn! Why can't they make these in 1/500.

They just L-O-V-E LTU, don't they?

Is this the aircraft in question?

It's going to be a Herpa, but I wonder whose mould it will be made in...

Re: Herpa NEWS Toy Fair 2009

Sounds ok, i'm not happy about the Silkair set though, it should be in 1:500.
AN-225 is going to be good, I have good expectations for this mould, man it's going to be big, i already have two AN-124 Condors and they're taking up space, imagine the AN-225.

I will like to get my hands on the LTU Tristar too.
Cheers for the news

Re: Herpa NEWS Toy Fair 2009

According to the picture in the latest "WingsWorld" issue, the free club model BOAC VC-10 is definitively an IF500 mould! No comment on this by Herpa in the magazine.

According to WW:
Quote:
Wherever possible we will gradually switch to assembling the wings individually from the side on all new molds. But on some smaller airplane types, this is technically not feasible. We will also gradually equip as many models as possible with rubber tires. Currently, however, we cannot say in what order this will happen.

NEXT issue will be featuring: TAM

Re: Herpa NEWS Toy Fair 2009

The only 1:200 I'm interested in is the SR-71A. I only collect 1:500 but have loved this bird since the '70's when I saw one at Mildenhall or Lakeheath. Walked around it for about 2 hours, engines the size of a bus and I can still remember the smell of the fuel dripping from it.
It was a piece of leaking scrap till it left the runway then it was a beast.

Re: Herpa NEWS Toy Fair 2009

The new 1:500 A320 Air Berlin will also feature a metal tail (finally !), also planned are some new 1:200 moulds, one already announced is the Fokker 50.

Regarding the LTU Tristar, I think it is impossible to beat the almost perfect IF500 LTU Tristar; unless Herpa uses the same mould...
