In 1:500 scale I only collect 77W's and in 1:400 I have managed to restrict myself to 744's. In 1:500 only Herpa. So when I see something good I just go for it.

I've always spent on a monthly basis, spending with some saved allowance.

It used to be every other month and then quarterly and now it's pick up a few here and there now and then. I rarely waste my time grabbing one or two at a time though, it's always a handful or more. I also used to be able to drop $200 or so a month, but now it's down to around $200 every 3 months... and I'm go far behind and so out of room, I'm winding down anyway.

I don't have a specific budget, I just buy the planes that I want when I encounter them. Having said that, the selection in 1/500 has been so un-interesting lately, that I haven't gotten anything in the last 2 months.

its funny how i said i buy once a month but thanks to chrisvalla and crairways just last month my collection jumped up by 10 extra models...boy did it hurt my bank

So what made you choose diecast Billie-boy? When I was your age and had time to be building planes, I really loved it. Have had to broaden my range to include military models since the civil collection filled up. Still also get some models with the intention of customing them up when one day I find the time.

i normally save up and get models from Alvin.. so maybe about once a month with the shipment of about 3-5 models each time.

Else, i'll look on ebay and see what's cheap.
