Air India 777-200LR On The Horizon!

I was just informed by one of my friends that his photo was chosen to be the box cover for the Herpa 1:500 scale model of an Air India 777-200LR that should be coming in the Fall!

If this is correct, then how exciting!!!!!!!!!!!

Do you know if the photo was new livery or old livery?

Perhaps this is the beginning of some exciting Indian releases....

Then he is happy I suppose
Wonder how Herpa is doing that... do they search on A.net for possible photos and contact the person?

Re: Air India 777-200LR On The Horizon!

Hey this is for real and not part of one of those wishlists or predictions right?

Look forward to it, just got my AF 772LRF the first 772 mould with raked wingtips, great model! Will certainly welcome this Air India (PAX) anytime.

Yes some are still in new colours. The ones being delivered now wear the new colurs but there are still some Air india 777s in old colour.

Re: Air India 777-200LR On The Horizon!

I had another friend approached today for the box cover of a Delta 777-200LR! He however cannot remember which scale the model was going to be made in.

Fingers crossed!

Re: Air India 777-200LR On The Horizon!

this is good news!!!

just about a week ago, i actually sent an email to air india's customer service address on their web site. i mentined that they should make AI and IC aircrafts since sri lankan is coming out with an inflight set and herpa has made the 77W for pakistan.

they replied and said that they "are [already] in the process of revamping inflight/ duty free offerings" and at any rate, they will still forward my comment to "their duty free concessionaire for airplane models."
