Now that aloha is gone, will my Model be worth more?

Hello everyone.

I have two of the Aloha Airlines 737's made by Herpa. Now that the airline shut down (sadly), will these models rise in value?

southwest_freak is closest, airflorida54 is no where near. In fact, I don't even know what the hell he's going on about in relation to the question. Since Aloha are no more, then it will depend on whether the models you have sell out or not. This again depends on how many were made, when they were made and how quickly they sell out.

If they sell out quickly, I imagine they will be highly wanted by collectors therefore, sellers asking for more money for them. If they don't, then I can't see them growing that rapidly although year by year they should rise in value.

Just because Aloha ceased ops in "Real Life" doesn't mean they can't still be around in your airport. It's all up to you.

The Aloha B737 models in the 1/500 scale were already hard to find, so their value in money (and sentiments) will increase!

Honestly, I think that the value-raising isn't that strong at Aloha models as at ATA planes...

Re: Now that aloha is gone, will my Model be worth more?

You'll see sellers try to spike the price for the next 6 months (it happens with just about EVERYTHING... Columbia stuff, Heston stuff, Arthur C Clark books...). People try to get a premium for things right after it's gone knowing some collectors or wannabe collectors just gotta have it before it's gone and don't really know where to find it under 'normal' market conditions. Anyone who thinks they can sell of cases of planes is in for a bit of a shock... they won't spike that much.

just because an airline is no more in real life, doesn't mean it cannot exist, or should i say, it cannot be made into models...

there have been various defunct airlines who have ceased to exist ages ago, yet we have seen them made into models, like the air siam 747 herpa club model.

i agree with rammstein, it is a question of rarity of the actual model itself and not the original airline.

the 737 model was discontinued ages ago and given its rarity its value will increase over time, as with similar models. however, i think it is still possible to see future releases in the aloha livery.
