Why are airliners' wing-mounted engines pointed inward slightly, instead of straight ahead?

Why are the outer 1/3rd wing spans of Antonov Airliners/Cargo Planes canted downward. I can see where that would destabilize the aircraft to greatly increase its rate of roll, but for an airliner or cargo plane, is that really necessary...?

it is a designe feature for high wing-low C.G. aircrafts,in order to destory the stability of the plane, because it is too STABLE which make it difficult to roll.

Hi
You are right about the CofG, Has anyone ever seen a B52 Take off? If you look the wings are flapping on takeoff which is something different |
