Red face

A few weeks ago I was at Washington National Airport, I had dropped my Grandmother off to go back to Albany in NY.
Me and my mother went to the observation area at gravely point to watch her take off, my grandmothers plane was third to depart when a US Airways 737-300 taxied on to the runway, he would be taking off away from me and where we were you get a really good look at the departing planes, he positioned the aircraft for take off as he began to power up he suddenly made a right turn behind my grandmothers 3rd in line plane, and he was in a hurry!
suddenly from behind me came a Delta 727 landing where the 737 was sitting just seconds before.
As far as I can tell someone in the tower screwed up bad and it was almost a mess.
As if this was not enough for this day a few min later a Continental 737 fly's right over the airport at about 1,000 feet, im assuming that he was waved off due to another misshap in the tower.
Well my grand mother got out of DC safely and all is ok but I will never forget the chaos I saw on that day.

P.S. I try to avoid flying in or out of National.

Hello Vikings,
I visited Dulles Airports a few weeks ago and had a blast.
I'm about a 3.5 hour drive from you down here on the Virginian Peninsula in Hampton. I usally drive over to the Norfolk International Airport and observe their flight operations. Being a Class C airport we don't get a much traffic as DCA, IAD, or BWI does. Most of ORF's traffic are domestic 737's, F-100's, MD-80's, 727's, Jetsteams, and Regional Jets. Occasionally, there is DL 757 that flies in, and I have also seen what looked like a DC-10F or a L-1011 parked on a ramp at night on the other side of the field. It was hard to tell because it was dark.
It's cool that you live a driving distance from me. I am looking for other Herpa Wings Collectors who live close by as there are no other collectors in the Hamptonroads area.

I look forward to hearing from you soon.

Happy Collecting!

Question

Hi Andre,

What's a class C (or for that matter class A or B) airport?
