Coming back to the real batch of news, i am happy for some models like the American Airlines B757-200WL or the KLM B737-700WL (a masterpiece, i am sure), the Iran Air Fokker 100 and Asiana A350 (the delivery of the 1:1 model is planned for 2017 so i hope Herpa will not produce a fantasy model), the Alitalia B777-200 new livery (even if it is extremely easier to catch A319s and A320s in the new livery than the B777, and Herpa decides to produce widebodies, as usual...) and the China Southern B737-800WL (great release, of course) but it is always like "a gear fatiguing to walk", especially respect some Statjets (before) and the early Sky500 (now) models and news; Herpa releases always the same models and the same airlines while i can't forget models like Livingston A330-200, I-Fly A330-300, Thomas Cook A320 old livery, Swiss MD-11, XL France and Corsair A330-300 and so on.
Anyway, like Homzie correctly says, "think positive and hope for the future, take the best of each batch of news even if the nice models are two or three".
About charter/leisure airlines you know i prefer narrowbodies and only after i would like widebodies to be produced (the same of regular/special liveries: before the regular livery of an airline and then the many special liveries), so i would be really happy if Herpa (or Sky500 or new manufacturers of the future) will produce as many leisure narrowbodies as possible.
You say about the United B767-200 "Saul Bass", for example: i am happy because Herpa is releasing the B767-200, after the wonderful UTAir and AeroSur, and the mould is amazing (the "Sharko" is one of the most beautiful 1:500 models ever!) but i don't agree with the choice because i would have preferred the US Airways latest livery or the United post-merge livery...
Herpa confirms to be a manufacturer "especially for widebodies": in these last months i am changing the positionf of my thousands of models in the various boxes and wardrobes and i still can't don't be wondered by the huge amount of widebodies respect the narrowbodies!
But i know that this post seems a complain while i don't want to complain, for this reason i write mails to Herpa...
The only certain thing is that it is always a matter of tastes, of course.

Re: Herpa Wings News 05-06 2017

very interesting list my friend...
However, my list would feature - (my wallet would disagree with me)

Emirates A380 A6-EUP (I'm tired of EK Special liveried A380s)
Lufthansa B747-8i D-ABYS (LH sends B748i to BOM so, it would be nice)
Air India B747-400 VT-EVB (the jewel of the AI fleet)
Jet Airways B777-300ER VT-JEP (I know Sky500 released VT-JEH)
British Airways B777-200ER G-VIIC (we haven't had a BA B772 in ages)
South African A340-300 (spotted her at LHR during my last trip)
Etihad B777-300ER A6-ATL (new livery)
Qatar B777-300ER (any new registration or oneworld liveried B77W)
Qatar A350 (wanted it since she was delivered to Qatar)
Air Canada B777-300ER (seen her at LHR a few times)
Korean B747-8i (with a registration - Hogan version was without a reg.)

P.S. I would've included KLM B744 and B77W in new colours but they've already been released/announced.

that's all I could think of, Ale!

The ribbed pattern reduces turbulence in the airflow and thereby reduces drag. This diminishes surface resistance when moving at speed. According to the latest findings, using this aerodynamic surface could result in savings of one percent in kerosene and thereby reduce the impact on the environment and lower operating costs.

Just saw a picture of the JASDF 744 on Herpas web site.

Will they be returning to the NG1 mould?

In December 2016 the A330-300 D-AIKB ("Cuxhaven") was equipped with the new technology out of "mass production". To promote the new coating the aircraft has recieved the stickers "Shark skin technology for green efficiency".

The technology is described on the LH Homepage here:
