Are you just going to quote all of my quotes in every thread? It's quite annoying and rather stalkingish. Yes 1/400 is for children!

He's doing that because your posts are rather... aggressive.
1:400 is not for children. You should respect other scales too. In fact, 1:500 manufacturers have lots to learn with 1:400 models. They have many details our 1:500 models don't have.

Re: Is 1:500 Dead/ Dying?

I will, but with the new generation I don't really see what improvements 1/400s have... except the silly antennas, that are far too big and look like they're glued, and what's the point of having those without the pitot tubes, etc? But I will be nice now, or I will get an other private message from the team... wondering if they sent that too to who attacked me first. Anyway, I will be an angel now!

Charter's giving it a good go.....I started on 1/500,then realised the extra detail in 1/400 you get for around the same price is fantastic but i doubt 1/500 will die completely because of the size and it's a lot easier for model airports although i mainly collect 747s and L-1011s only in 1/400 and my main collection is 1/200....

Re: Is 1:500 Dead/ Dying?

I don't think 1:500 is dying, but with the current prices between 1:400 and 1:500 so close lately, if you don't have a big issue with the space...
I have partially moved from 1:500 to 1:400...I don't want to get rid of my 1:500 collection ( not too big, only 55 models ), but the intention is to have the top favorites in 1:400 ( mostly oldies from the 70, 80 and 90“s and wide bodies ) and the rest in 1:500. When more space is available, then 1:400 should be the main one.
Of the 3 models I have received so far, I am more then happy with them, I mean, the difference is really worth the effort..
The fact that Herpa is almost monopolizing the market does not help at all.
