Model of the year in 2014?

Hi guys, which is your model of the year?! I know there will be still released some models by Phoenix and maybe others until the end of the year, but i think it's time to start a voting.

I did some research in my collection and this is my vote:

Phoenix Models Ryanair Boeing B737-800

And now, what's your model of the year?! Post some pictures

I'd have to go with the Ryanair 738 too. I have to say Mike, your photo's are so dynamic. Brings your models to life.

Haha! This was my 2nd choice! After trying to find the GJ version for a decent price and seeing Mike's photos of this particular model, I decided to purchase it along with the other BA releases. Great choice.

Re: Model of the year in 2014?

I don't know if the five models i chose are all of the year 2014, but i am really undecided.
Of course the Ryanair B737-800WL probably is the model of the year also for me, but these are my five favourites:

Ryanair B737-800WL: incredibly releases, an airline despised and hated by some (me too), but an icon of the world of civil aviation. This model is perfect, everything is well realized, even the color of the wheels of the main landing gear!

Monarch A300-600
: maybe this is just a personal opinion, but the Monarch A300-600 was my favourite A300 of all time. The livery is beautiful, the airline an icon of leisure market and the A300...a monster of beauty!

Thomson B737-800WL: maybe i love this model not only because we are talking of an important airline with a beautiful livery, but also because i have in 1:400 scale what i am waiting for many, many years in 1:500...

Transaero B737-800: the winglets are missing but this model is a masterpiece at the same level of the Ryanair B737-800! Transaero is one of my most loved Russian charter airlines, and i love this model.

Ural Airlines A320: masterpiece! Simply beautiful.

Re: Model of the year in 2014?

I must admit that the Ryanair B737 is a nice looking model but thanks to a bad experiance with them and the fact that Ryanair are like dog muck at East Midlands(it/they get everywere) the model and the airline arnt appealing to me.
My choice would have to be the Phoenix Polar Air Cargo/DHL Boeing B747-800F.

Great choices Alessandro!! I would also choose the Monarch A300 as the 3rd best model of the year. Phoenix did a brilliant job with it

I didn't had any points of contact with Ryanair yet, because i never flew with them. I just saw them a couple of times on some Airports. The Ryanair was my choice, because the model is nearly perfect. I really can't find any fault with something on this one.

By watching your signature, your choice was an easy prognose

Re: Model of the year in 2014?

2014 was a collection hold for me. However, I just bought the Southwest 737 Gemini jets released as a late Christmas/New Years gift to myself.

If you know me, you know I love american narrow body jets. Regional jets and 737s. Airports like Bluegrass Airport, Louisville International Airport, Birmingham, Alabama Airport. Domestic airports.

Even though I did collect the models I am about to say, to me they were top releases for myself.

Reward to the best releases in 2014, AeroClassics.

With the new livery UPS A300 and the Sharklet Virgin America A320. The numerous Southwest models AC released, the Eastern 737 and the Qantas retrojet 737. AeroClassics hit it out of the ballpark this year.

BUT. I would have to give the reward for model of the year to the GeminiJets Southwest Airlines 737-700WL. The backbone of Southwest. I am happy to say that model is destined to arrive sometime next week.

Edit: Mike, your pictures of the RyanAir are absolutely gorgeous. Honestly looks like a brand new painted aircraft.
