yapple's collection
Hi all,
I've posted my collection at DAC a while back, thought I would do the same here too.
Most of my collection are in the 1/400 scale, though i have some 1/500 and a 1/200 (with another one arriving soon) along with a Herpa 1/500 airport, which I did not use for photos. So the photographs might seem bland, do pardon me for that.
I collect only models of (and try to limit them to more 'reputable' manufacturers)
- Singapore Airlines (1990s colours + current billboard titles (except the A380))
- Cathay Pacific (Only B-reg, no VR-)
- Some airlines from Asia
- Airlines from the South Pacific & Micronesia (Oceania) region
- Airlines from the Indian Ocean region
- Some colourful schemes/normal liveries which I like (most probably an A340/B777 - my favourite aircrafts) - not a lot though.
Photos from the next post onwards. (Uploading later on in the morning) I have not taken any photos of the fleets, only individual shots so far.
Will first post my SQ collection, as they are the official airline of my country
Thanks
Yap.

Re: yapple's collection
Here is my Singapore Airlines fleet (1990 colours + Billboard titles except for the A380s).
Using thumbnails for the first time, looks neater, though the quality is reduced, so I may revert back to not using thumbnails for the rest of the photos.

Re: yapple's collection
WOW.. That is a great collection you have going there with Singapore Airlines. The second plane on the 1st row, the Herpa one with Megatop titles was my very first plane along with a Herpa SQ a340-500. I still remember when Singapore Airlines used to sell 1/400 models such as the a340, 747 and the 777. Nowadays, they don't sell them and if you want one, you have to buy an entire collection of planes from different eras they call the heritage series. Anyways, i cannot wait to see your other collection. They are looking great.

Thanks. The Herpa i think was my first plane too, a gift from my dad. Wow, which Herpa A345 is that? the first, second or the third?
The next one I'm showing will be Cathay Pacific... Just received the Herpa A340-300! Still awaiting the 1/200 B747-400 though.

Re: yapple's collection
What a coincidence. Mine was a gift from my dad as well on my 11th birthday. I think its 9v-swa without leadership titles. So which town in Singapore are you at? I used to live in Singapore for 10 years

Re: yapple's collection
Too bad my dad didn't buy for me the DW SPK Tropical 'In flight sales' or the Herpa A345 2nd version, my most wanted SQ models. I live near the airport (Eastern part), so i always visit the airport or the approach path to spot planes. When did you leave Singapore then?

Re: yapple's collection
Thats a great part. I am assuming Tampiness or Pasir Ris. I left Singapore completely in 2007 for the United States. I used to live in this place called Regent Heights in Bukit Batok. I remember when i was little and my dad's friends used to have parties and hangouts at East Coast beach and we could see planes taking off and then Pasir Ris beach which is like the Singaporean version of St Martin's

Re: yapple's collection
Yep, I stay somewhere in the centre of the 2. Bukit Batok....very far from my house haha. Lol, you meant Changi Beach? Planes fly over Changi Beach (not Pasir Ris). And it's far from being SXM You can only get 'boring' shots from the beach...

Re: yapple's collection
Before i show my CX collection (I'm delaying it as I'm waiting for a Herpa 1/200 CX B744 arrival), I would like to comment about my recent arrivals.
Very few arrivals recently...but they are some hard to find ones. Just received these few models in the past 3 weeks.
-Herpa Cathay Pacific A340-300 (well at USD 10.99 i suppose I can make do without the Aeroclassics version)
-Phoenix Emirates A340-500
and the 2 stars of the show (some rare Aussie birds)...
-DW/FC Qantas B747-300 Nalanji Dreaming
This nearly completes what I want to collect for Qantas... which is all the aircraft with aboriginal art/painting + the old Melbourne F1 livery. I'm only lacking the Wunala II from Phoenix.
and last but not least... The ultra rare...
-Aeroclassics Australian Airlines A300!! This model has certainly grown on me, in addition to the great price (I think). Still looking for the ultra rare Air Niugini though.
Will post photos soon.

Excellent line up of SQs :-)
Your special livery, is that the SPK or the SPL ?
I myself have a nice collection of various fleets incl. SQ.

Thanks! It's the DW SPL. I'm currently looking for the DW SPK In-flight sales but with no luck yet. I've checked your thread since i became a member of the forums, it's one of the inspirations of me collecting. The GJ SQ A343 is a rare bird too!

Been looking for the in flight sale SPK as well, but when PHX released both Special Schemes (SPK-SPL) I thought why not. The long hunt now was covered by the satisfactory of the PHX product. Good luck finding your GJ 343. (I've had some Unicorns in my fleets.) Still in the game for fleeting, but obviously taking it slow now. Thanks for sharing your fleet. Keep them coming!

Hmm, but the colour on both Phoenix Tropicals are not too right, so I gave up on the chance on buying them.
Haha, actually, I found the GJ A343 a few weeks ago at Waffle's collection sale, think it must have been listed for a less than an hour or so, I bought it immediately, at a good price. My most wanted SQ models currently are also one of the most expensive...the Inflight DW SPK and the Herpa A345 (2nd version). Taking it slow is good, haha. Sorry but what are Unicorns... (sorry if this sound stupid)
