Departure/Arrivals Board for Gemini Jets Airport
Hi there, I'm new to the forum.
I had started collecting 1:400 models 4 years ago, my first being a Malaysia-Singapore Airlines Boeing 707. Since then, me and a friend have amassed quite a collection of Gemini Jets as well as a few Herpa, JC Wings, Aeroclassics etc. My friend had bought himself the Gemini Jets airport set which has the three terminal buildings stuck to each other to make one large terminal in the middle of the mat. It also sports two runways, each one parallel to the terminal building. We had decided that we would spend a couple of weeks planning an arrivals and departures board for the airport, but since we have the range of airlines from LGW and LHR and would like to have a similar capacity, it is proving to be tough and fiddly with gate allocations, minimum turn-around times, push-out times etc.
Has anyone ever thought of or tried to accomplish a similar project like this? We're hoping to get everything sorted out for around June or July but it doesn't seem likely.
Thanks for any input and advice!

I have atttempted that and I actually had a pretty good one but it would have taken forever to complete. Now I have 2 Scrolling LED signs in my room that display flight information for 2 of my terminals.

That's cool...how did you do it? You make it sound like the information is live, but obviously that would mean you have to sit there and update the flight information every minute, right?

Well I had two different styles. One was daily flights that left at the same time each day and then I picked a time and had a full timetable with every single flight for the entire day and had set flight status information based on the time I picked
For example:
I pick 5:50 PM as my current, so my 6:15 PM Southwest Airlines flight# 6635 to Dallas is boarding while the 5:30 PM AA Flight to La Guardia has departed. And now I do a similar thing with my signs.

Re: Departure/Arrivals Board for Gemini Jets Airport
Me and my friend are using Microsoft Word as our departures and arrivals board. I've made a timetable on Excel which is colour coded for what times different aircraft are at certain gates. We're especially aiming for, as they called it, the "mid-morning line up" just like the sight at LGW from 2000 to 2003 from the Skyview viewing area. Unfortunately, AA and CO which was the construction of the mid-morning line up, have pulled out and the Skyview was closed in 2003. Making an AA, CO, AA, CO, AA, CO configuration is proving to be tough at the moment since we're basing some of our timetable on LGW's. Also, we're missing information on when these aircraft arrived and departed. Does anyone know how to acquire information on previous airport timetables?
Thanks!

Yeah, that sounds really cool! The only timetable I have is just a list of all the departures at my airport - it doesn't have anything like flight status. You can see it here: Departures - Kingmont International Airport. It had airline logos but they didn't show up when I copied the schedule....
