The first ever 1:400 faulty model by Phoenix in my collection!!! :)

After collecting so many 1:400s with Phoenix always been the top of the class in quality control. I was surprised to learn a rather not too small faulty on my Ph SQ A333 arrived today! The fault was not like the use of wrong colour paints or tail heavy etc, but an A330s nose gear been fitted back to front!!

Having to say that, does anyone have ever experience this or at least know how to cure it!! lol

Thanks,

Yes but there might be an issue pulling the wheels out as Phoenix model wheels are firmly fixed to the model and pulling it out might cause some damage.

I think its best if phoenix be contacted or you can even contact your retailer to check if they could exchange your model for a new SQ A330.

Seems like mine wasn't the only one with the landing gear issue. I got this model a while back and the landing gear was awful. My first faulty model with Phoenix as well. Wonder if we had the same guy putting in our gear.

Might cause some damage? You mean will cause some damage! Try the retailer even if they many miles away.

Fairly easy? The last time I looked at my Phoenix - it was embedded in a layer of epoxy resin/super glue. The only way to remove it would be to snap it off totally! LOL
If you are sold a 'defective model' I'd just politely ask for a switch. If they are a good retailer, they are sure to say yes, no?

Well, if you can ply it off(slowly) and not break it... then it's doable.
That's how I fixed the gears if there's flaw... remove the old layer of glue and glue it back on.
There's no perfect model. If you can fix it then go fix it... there could be some other problems with the replacement model, too. It's still better than the decals/prints are off or paint chip on the rim of the engine, etc. well... of cause... that's just me.

Re: The first ever 1:400 faulty model by Phoenix in my collection!!! :)

Sure! This is my SQ A333 with funny nose gear!!

By the way, does anyone removed the Ph A330s gear before, I have emailed Phoenix about the matter, but they seems reluctant to fix my model (perhaps I lived too far from them LOL) But they did offer to send some replacement gears.

Now i just wonder, does the gear and the gear door are in one piece, like the DW gears? or are they separate?
