Btw what's the limit of edgy items in the hand baggage. Any rules, Silver? I wouldn't want to get stopped at the screening and have to leave my precious pointy edged models at DUS or have to find a way to send them home to DK, hopefully the metal sharp wings won't cause an alarm. This has crossed my mind for a couple of days now.

Re: Rex's May Arrivals (10 models) (Part 2)

I think as long as everything fits in one bag or suitcase not bigger as 55*40*25 (IIRC that's the limit) it should be ok. Last year Michael and me also travelled HAM-DUS-HAM with a lot of models and didn't have any problems. But better don't buy any Concorde models, they're too sharp, esp. the Herpa mould

From the Saturday DUS show, I went back to CPH with 17 models. I checked in, and got trough the Xray Screening. They had me taken all models out and get them exposed trough the Xray. The Gemini and Phoenix looked fine, as a aircraft from above, but the Dragon wings models with plastic wings went undetected, it just looked too much of a dagger without a handle, they had it scanned three times, I explained that the wings were of plastic. and all went fine. Photos coming soon.

Re: PHOTOS : Rex's May Arrivals (17 models) (Part 3) Wings Boerse DUS 2009

Yes, I finally found this beautiful model of BR. I said to Kai, I'd give my left arm for it, I still have my arm after the show. Haha.

I think it was obvious that the NW fleet was the main target here. This is the line up I found there. I may have second opinion about the 787 though. Heck it still looks good in NW scheme, but the inflight wing style really creeps me out. Aherm.

Aren't they looking lovely at the gates?

Re: PHOTOS : Rex's May Arrivals (17 models) (Part 3) Wings Boerse DUS 2009

I like the models.
Great choose.
The JAL green aircraft is pretty rare, and special.
As i understood they are all 1:400 model, right ?? (although is 1:400 models' forum)
I like the NWA/KLM cargo aircraft-pity NWA is not using this livery anymore.
The CX Cargo-silver is cool too..
But I think the most special one is the EVA Air Hello Kitty model.
Porbabely cost like 50-60 USD...I wish I had one of those...

Good luck with the Eva air & NWA hubs!

No, It's not that rare. It's available just about everywhere, if you know where to look. It's very rare when you can't find it any of your 10+ good sources, then you'll know, it's very rare. Yes they are all in 400 scale. thus why it's also in the 400 scale section.

I know, I wanted to get this anyway before it is completely engulfed by Delta. Though I have heard that Delta has grounded many of these classic 747 freighters already.

I got that Hello Kitty for 25 Euros. It will look good on the Cebuano JDIA airport (My Model airport.)

Wow! You got a load of nice models! Glad to see you guys met and had a good time. Is the show at DUS annual? I can only assume that they will be partnering with the expansive KLM fleet you have.

Happy Collecting: Speak Soon!

Matt

NWA has over 400 aircrafts, 200 still have to undergo the repainting into DL scheme. SO yes, they will still be displayed on the model airport a few more months to come. I'm not that in a hurry to get rid of them. Besides they will good for a diorama section from AMS one day, Side by side with KLM. Aherm. That will be exciting.

Yeah, they will be displayed in the same cabinet as it's partner KLM.

The WINGS BOERSE DUS are held 2 times yearly, May and October. I will be there for the October meet up again. See you there?
