Exclamation A little advice...

Help... I collect just Gemini Jets at the moment, but they don't have enough airlines I like, and I want to widen my collection.

I am starting to gather British airlines and international airlines too for my airport, but I am unsure which manufacturer to buy from.

Can you help me?

My main demands are:
  • FULL diecast (NO plastic wings!)
  • Modern airlines/liveries (NO retro!)
  • Real registration numbers (NO fake!)
  • Printed decals (NOT painted!)
  • 1:400 scale
  • And excellent detail! (obviously!)
Also ANY suggestions are accepted gratefully.

Thanks for you help

Regards

Matt

Re: A little advice...

i think that if you like GJ so much then you should pick a airline that they mass produce, i have a collection of only GJs aswell and i have a ever growing BA collection, if you dont want to collect BA then maybe virgin atlantic

Re: A little advice...

With your "demands" i think the only good company's are Gemini Jets, Pheoenix and JC wings....But i think the most detailed has got to be gemini ( i also mainly collect them )

Some where I heard that jet-x went all metal. I am not for sure so you might want to check that out.

Just have a look on the frequent new release announcements and see what you like.

You do realise that you get more detail in the wings and tail section if they are plastic.

I don't think so. I have a Gemini Jets plane that is so detailed on the wing it says No step in red all over it. It's small but I can read it.

Re: A little advice...

The original Big Bird (also used by AC) made the best 747 & 767! I would say Phoenix does the best A-330, A-340, 737NG, & 777. GJ did the best MD-11 & A-310, and AeroClassics the best A-300 or DC-10. Nobody does a decent baby Bus, sad to say!
JC does the best (only) IL-86. Herpa does the best A-340-600.

Hope that helps!

Plastic wings do have more detail, but what you just said "it says No step in red all over it." Thats just saying it has detailed printed graphics on it, not actual wing detail (e.g Ailerons, Flaps, Spoiler detail)

Fine, whatever. But who wants plastic wings and a plastic tail with a metal fuselage. I have one and it is just terrible, Gemini Jets are way better.
