Question Advice needed: Cleaning my jets

Hi All,

Recently, I have been looking at my models in greater detail, and have noticed a thin film of dust in my cabinet and on the models.

I wonder if you people could give me ANY tips on cleaning my Gemini Jets. I read recently about rinsing them in hot water! Is this correct? I have not tried because I am unsure.

Any suggestions greatly appreciated! Thanks

Regards

Matt

Re: Advice needed: Cleaning my jets

I would suggest just a dry dust cloth, I've had some of my planes for almost 10 years now and I've never used anything but like a swifer dry dusting cloth.

Re: Advice needed: Cleaning my jets

What i do is use my Small modeling brushes, Only a few mm wide and i just go over them every so often. That works a lot for me.

Re: Advice needed: Cleaning my jets

If you don't have any fancy tools then just take a Q-Tip and wipe off the dust and whatever else. This will be the safest thing for your model because if you use a rag you have a chance of hitting the wheels off.

Re: Advice needed: Cleaning my jets

I usually use one of those micro-fiber cloths for cleaning glass lenses or camera lenses, that works well, I really like the idea of using a soft paint brush though!!

have a good one mates!

Re: Advice needed: Cleaning my jets

I bought a "make-up" brush, that is very soft, and clean them periodically... works very well with no damages on the models....

I use a soft make up brush. I find it to be much faster than using a cloth.
