No real worries here Shawn...
Seems , just one particular fella "must have" this one and bids to that effect.

Put it down to an aberation.
Happens rarely on some general models.

Good for seller in this instance.

I cannot believe this. I picked mine up for USD$20.00 2 months ago. Amazing.

Indeed
Sometimes I really don't understand people giving out more money for a standard release than for a special one.

Actually Shawn I sold a couple on ebay every week for about 4 years (plus on the website as well). The prices ranged from $15 to $25 depending on who was bidding that week. So yeah, they were in stock for a LONG time, but eventually they all found homes and I did just fine on the whole thing.

Re: Hawaiian Airlines L-1011 1/400

It comes down to the rule of "supply and demand". Even Gemini Jets production lines of 2,500 models each will occasionally fall into that category and will ensue a bidding war of gross porportions. See it all the time. In many of the instances, there is a group of newbee collectors and first time ebayers that are clueless as how to go about bidding on ebay; nor have a clue as to where in the world they can find that particular model a lot cheaper from a store including postage. "Seller delight from the adrenaline fight!"
