Re: My BA Collection

Hey Gary,
have to agree with some of the other posts, the Landor looks fantastic. . Did I read correctly......300 + to complete this little project....... One does really have to stay focused...unlike myself..who has drifted around a bit in the past .

There will be 300+ in TOTAL (Regular + Customs) when i come towards the end of the fleet of which there will be around 167 customs.
For me it's not that difficult as i only want and have this fleet so everything goes into it.
New photos of the updated fleet will be done next month with line ups and group shots of the Utopias included!!

Re: My BA Collection

I've just added a BCAL DC-10 and British Airtours L-1011 Red Tail to my collection, arrived today. I was hoping to get " Silver Jubilee Rose " instead I got " Siher Jublice Rose ".

Surprised they even knew how to spell Rose?

Oh dear - never nice when that happens!!
I take it thats the 5 Stars version in 1/500. I notice they have the Landor Airtours version as well, supposedly named "Hawkins Rose" as per the database. Where the hell they got that from i have no idea as G-BBAJ Airours Landor L-1011 was in fact named "The Elizabeth Harkness Rose" and renamed to "Holyhead Bay".
Not much luck with names for 5 Stars!!
The Blue Box mould might have it's shortcomings in 1/400 but at least they got the names right!!

Re: My BA Collection

Just spotted this one on eBay. Is this based on an actual livery on a 777 in the past, or is this a fantasy model?

Re: My BA Collection

Its a Fantasy model. Teaming up Britian was only on a 732, A320, 757.

Re: My BA Collection

Hi there Gary,
was just talking to a mate and he came up with a very good question.

Mabye yourself, Chard, Doc, Reg ,Silverbird, furry or another suspect could come up with an answer....

Q. What photo is around, that shows the most amount of BA World tails at any one airport at any given time .
One would think it would be in the UK, possible a promo, or just a great shot.
I think you've got it already....
Please share.......

Good question Colin
There aren't that many good shots with lots of tails in them.
The best one i have i think is below. although only six tails if you want to include the Chatham Dockyard livery!!

If anyone has some better ones please let us all indulge!!

Re: My BA Collection

It's pretty special when you can say you've got all 6 models with the exact registration, in a picture like that.

Runs off to check collection.............

Well, Well, Funny that...

In " From Guernsey, with Stamps" their might be a similar line up coming soon, watch the space.

Re: My BA Collection

Well, Well.
I started Birthday celebrations one day early .

Just picked up BB 747-200's British Airways 'Landors' G-BXJ 'Landor' & G-MGS ' City of Winchester'. . I think that's the correct regos'.
Paid way to much , but what the heck. Should be here in a week or so and just can't wait. Now only need 747-400 'City of Cardiff'.....
I'll just have to wait until I have enough $$££ so the family stop eating noodles and I'll have another look.
In the meantime I have to say I really am a very happy lad...

G-BDXJ and G-BMGS - Two excellent models that rank among my favourites being in the Landor scheme.
Is the BMGS the Airtours or Airways version you have Colin?
You can never pay too much for a Landor 747!!
Tell the family it's hunger strike until "Cardiff" arrives. No negotiations!!
