Re: Ok i think its getting out of hand

Just to add. I'm now up to 724 aircraft. I've finally got my RAF tristars and also a few others such as a nice Landor B763. Richard

Re: Ok i think its getting out of hand

I collect with my eldest son, the worst part is that he keeps blowing a hole in my wallet. I send him money every week which includes all his expenses except for college funds and rent and after that he asks me to send him $50 every week so he can get a model and i think thats out of control.

Re: Ok i think its getting out of hand

I think after the last few weeks there will be a few more stories to read in this thread. With some bargains floating around, some collectables putting their head above water and waffles sale, there WILL be some explaining to be done.. When the dust settles let's hear how you all got along. I'm quite frankly a little distressed. Think I'll go and have a cup of tea and a rest.

Re: Ok i think its getting out of hand

I've been collecting for less than a year and I already have over 660 and still counting admittedly that includes some 1/500 and 1/200 scale but the problem I now face is hoe to display them to do them justice especially the 1/200's and in that range especially the Inflight B747-400 British Airways "Rendezvous" which is awesome as well as the Hogan series of 1/200 Concordes - Keep Going I intend to!

What a treat it would be to have a model a day! You can have a crummy day at work, but a package greeting you once you get home..... You'll be forgetting that crummy day at work!

I say, keep em coming Fatherjack!

There sure are a few that are not very much a priority for me anymore, but i still like most of those and wouldn't want to get rid of them. And i still like collecting them, so i'll go on as long as it is fun and i can more or less easily afford it.

My priority in collecting still is 1/500, but there are more and more exeptions coming to the 1/400 department (these are planes i really like and which aren't available in 1/500, at least not in decent quality).
500 wow!!!!

I gotta do my inventory to see how many I have!!!

a perfect example of self control! You're a very active member here since almost 6 years and you collect at a rate of a little bit more than 1 model/month. Respect, seeing 20 to 50 new 1:400 models every month here on the forum and just choose one is really not easy !

without people like you I would have to feel bad with more than 1200 models in all scales in about 11 years

Re: Ok i think its getting out of hand

I think basically we're all the same except some bugets may be different. The problem seems to be for me, just when one finally reaches one goal; ie finishes a theme or series, another comes along and off we go again. It's great, no matter we can all do it at our own pace. Enjoy.........1200....

Re: Ok i think its getting out of hand

Kepp your eyes hight and stretch your arms into the sky , the new releases are falling everywhere and I do see almost impossible to refrain from buying more than one model a month !! May is not the month to start , let´s try next month !! ... greddy collectors we are !!

Just wonder those collectors who have reached 700,800,900 models , how do they manage to display the models ? to store the empty boxes ??

Fatherjack and MarathonA340, Please tell me you don't buy 20+ of just one model in the same registration (lol)... It's hard to look for some models that are limited productions like GJs. I'd be annoyed if someone bought a 500 of the model (not what anyone would) I wanted (mainly BA).
