I always try to let some go. I know that 1200 or 700 is too much and it seems like that to me. I sell some every summer so I can make room. Sometimes I wait till a collectible show to splurge and buy a lot of them. I want to get some but I am waiting till I get some more money and buy what I want. I will sell some in May or June but it may be hard but I will get my collection down and limit myself too.

Is it hard to let them go? Something like out of ( Babe). By the way, fantastic signature. Nice....

I envy you the space you have to store everything!

The storage is quite easy. They are contained in at the last count 15 banana boxes which take gemini and dragon both medium and large boxes a treat. The aeroclassics have a box of their own though along with the SMA and Dragon small boxes. The problem is deciding which ones to have out. I've got about 54ft worth of shelf space on which they go. Re: Ok i think its getting out of hand

If you do the maths of 700 models divide by 2 years, I say the rate of collection per year is approx 350.
That's what I call rocket speed :-)

Re: Ok i think its getting out of hand

Hmmm... I just bought my 501st plane yesterday.

So now i have 7 ones in the 1/200 department, 81 in the 1/400-scale and the big bunch of 413 in 1/500. There sure are a few that are not very much a priority for me anymore, but i still like most of those and wouldn't want to get rid of them. And i still like collecting them, so i'll go on as long as it is fun and i can more or less easily afford it.

My priority in collecting still is 1/500, but there are more and more exeptions coming to the 1/400 department (these are planes i really like and which aren't available in 1/500, at least not in decent quality).
