I saw this on Ebay as well. Its actually about 30.00 (!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!) after you include shipping.

LIke the EMB145, this is VERY EXPENSIVE, so choose wisely. Im going to wait to see an airline version.

The one that was on eBay was from Ming Lee.

I like collecting as much as the next person, but there is no way I would EVER shell out 500.00 for any of this stuff....No matter how exclusive it is.

Relatively speaking, (TO ME), the A318 is expensive. You can pick up a widebody release for the same money. Why does this airplane need to be 25.00?, is my question. A lot of-(NOT ALL), narrowbody Airbus releases are between 13 and 21 dollars.

Im not telling others not to buy it, I just feel the price is out of line and that "I" choose to wait for an airline scheme before I would consider spending on a 318.

BTW: This release caught my attention as Ming Lee has always had fair price points. I have purchased a large quantity from him in the past. I AM NOT KNOCKING MING LEE, so dont take my post as a PUT DOWN on him.

Well you cannot find this model everyday on the regular market. It was a special corp release to Airbus (not even a regular release) of the only A318 made in either 1/500 or 1/400. This is a RARE model and that it is a very fair price considering the rarity of this model.

Well then go to your hobby shop and pick up this model for 20 dollars or less but I know when Brinkley has difficulty finding it and it pops up at a shop for 24.95 it is a good deal. It's not cheap but it's not the most expensive one out there either.

Didnt know this was a rare release. I thought it was a regular in Corporate Colors.

Thats actually good news...When the A-318 is released in an airline scheme, it will probably be more in line with the pricing of other Airbus narrowbodies.

Here are airlines that have ordered the A318: Hopefully we'll see some of them in the near future from Dragon. Info is from Flug Revue Online

http://www.flug-revue.rotor.com/FRTypen/FRA318.htm

* Air China: 8 ordered
* Air France: 15. Air France was declared a launch customer on 26 April 1999, following the signature of a purchase agreement for up to 25 A318s, including 15 firm orders and 10 options. First deliveries are scheduled for Spring 2003. Propulsion will be by CFM56.
* America West: 15 ordered, plus 12 options
* British Airways: 12. Selected the A318 over the Boeing 717 in October 1999, ordering 12 aircraft and opting for12 more, with deliveries to begin in January 2003. Pratt & Whitney PW6000 engines will be fitted.
* EgyptAir: 5. Signed a commitment with Airbus Industrie for three A318s on April 26, becoming the first customer in the Arab world to select the new aircraft. Another two orders followed on 7 March 2000. Deliveries of Egyptair's A318s will begin in late-2002.
* Frontier Airlines: 5 ordered on 10 March 2000, plus five options, with the first three planned for 2003 delivery.
* GATX/Flightlease: 12 ordered, but have been striken from the list after the Swissair collapse in late 2001.
* GECAS: 30 ordered plus five options
* International Lease Finance Corporation (ILFC): 20. ILFC announced a corporate decision to select the Airbus A318 as the 100-120 seat aircraft it will offer for lease to airlines around the world on 17 November 1998. ILFC had a Memorandum of Understanding for up to 30 A318s, but at some time changed 10 of them to A319s.
* TAM: Brazilian airline TAM - Linhas Aéreas announced its intention to acquire 20 Airbus A318s on 20 June 2001 at Le Bourget. TAM's A318s will seat 120 passengers in a luxurious single class cabin. Not listed in the Airbus orderbook, so final contract probably not signed yet.
* TWA: 50. TWA signed a letter of intent with Airbus in December 1998, covering 50 aircraft for delivery from 2003 to 2007. This was later listed by Airbus as 25 orders and 13 options, but even this was cancelled in the summer of 2001 as TWA entered Chapter 11 in January 2001 and was taken over by American Airlines in the spring of 2001.
* TYCO Capital: 4.
