Wheels - can I have a view please..?
On your 1/200 models, is it important to you that the wheels go round..?
Is it preferable to have a scale undercarriage with scale wheels, wheel separation, scale legs etc... or something that you can play with on the carpet...? Naturally both options are ideal, but if it was one or the other..? ............a quick post of your views would be appreciated... Thanks.. |

Scale wheels that do not move - so long as they are sturdy enough not to break and don't go MIA in the carpet!

Re: Wheels - can I have a view please..?
I stopped playing with my models on the carpet when I was about 10. LOL..
Nowadays, who plays with their models (1:200) on the floor anyway? It could well be just me, but I only display them temporarily on a display MAT, on the shelf or hidden away boxed. But I would say, I prefer fix landingwheels. only because I don't play and roll them. :-)

Re: Wheels - can I have a view please..?
None of my models have wheels that spin 'smoothly' even though the manufacturers may advertise that. I don't think it matters for me as long as they look good and are to scale.

They all sit on the Stand's with there gear down. So I'd like to have scaled landing gear. Just makes it look better.

Re: Wheels - can I have a view please..?
Scale gears certainly.
And no, I wouldn't play with them on the carpet, the gears would get caught and torn off by the shagpile, be covered in the shake and vac of time by the haggered old char lady of destiny and then be vacumed up by the hoover of fate!!

Re: Wheels - can I have a view please..?
Not really bothered about the wheels going around, but the actual suspension yes,to me IF200 is the best.
The rest Herpa/Hogan,Skymarks/Risesoon i replace the wheels with Herpa's retrofit gear. |
