Looks like the training period is over now that BA put their A380 on the LHR-LAX route, apparently HKG will be next. For the inauguration, BA did a publicity stunt at T5 with Angelina Jolie, George Clooney, and Daniel Craig... look-alikes This wouldn't have happened in the glory days, would it?!

A380 continues on Frankfurt route until October 12th. They have two aircraft now.

I flew on G-XLEB to Frankfurt and return last Wednesday (25th September), the crew told me that BA902 and BA903 will continue until the end of October for pilot training. They might have to do more of these short haul training flights again in January 2014 for the next batch of pilots that are in training now.

Some photos from my recent trip on A380 G-XLEB. I took my son on BA902 and BA903 as he is a fan (I am now after these flights). Only the lower deck Club (Business) and Economy sections are being used on these flights but on the return flight I asked if we could have a tour of the upper deck. We were allowed to sit in the seats in Club and try out the features and then spent 20 minutes in First class trying the lay flat sleeper seats and the electric window blinds. An excellent trip.
