Re: Virgin to lease a330's

Very interesting. Perth is obviously the largest market for growth. Hence why both airlines are taking the brunt of their national fight to Perth.

This is great news for West Australians who will see extra service, better product and cheaper prices!

Ive always thought Perth has the most potential out of any Australian city. I visit Perth a lot and I am very impressed with the city and its growth. good luck to the airlines and Perth!

Apart from this domestic increase in service and competition, internationally the number of flights has increased significantly. Around 8 years ago I used to fly from HKG on CX, they only had 3 flights a week. Now they have 10 flights a week and I believe QF also have a daily service. The same type of growth has been seen to DPS, SIN, Kuala Lumpur nad Tokyo I beleive.

I thought this was about Virgin Atlantic by the title Would be nice to see A330's in the Virgin Blue colors though.

Sorry about that bud. When I posted it and saw the thread I thought s***!!!!!! I think its interesting combination because they operate the 777's and it's strange there going to Airbus aswell. Cost increases but i'm happy to see more A330's. Last thing is I wonder were going to park. It's absolutely packed at Perth on weekdays.

Can't be if V Australia's changing to Virgin Australia. If there changing colour I wonder if it's planes are going to be painted Blue? If they do I'll miss those little red-rockets. Hang-on new name -

Virgin Brand will still be there be a new second name, my gut feeling is the livery will be more similar to VAustralia's, keep your eyes peeled at the Boeing factory for any new paint

The game has changed and everything at VB is going to change the product/uniforms/cabins/livery/name/lounges/FF program massive relaunch next year in FEB going to be very exciting

VAustralia cant change due to VS being 49% owned by SQ (Virgin name cant be used outside of Australia) so VAustralia will be the longhaul and a new name for the domestic ops.

Re: Virgin to lease a330's

Back in June they were close to an agreement to change it's name to Virgin australia (Pac Blue, VB and V Aus). Just found out VB are retiring it's 6 ERJ-170's , not that Perth see's them anyway.

The E170's are crap, standby on a turbo-prop of some sort, pretty much think it will be Virgin Australia for domestic.
