Cool Better UAL Livery

This would better represent the merger between United/Continental:

Re: Better UAL Livery

The United white Stripes on the tail seems very random. United on the fuselage could be bigger, perhaps similar to LAN's style.

REX, If you are refering to titles like below, then I agree! That would look great! Also REX...how do the white stripes seem random? They make the tullip design of the current United livery.

Re: Better UAL Livery

I don't know, to be fair, I agree with Jay here. The White lines that make up the United Tulip do seem rather random, like random breaks in the tail paint. The United up front doesn't look too bad here though. I do like the Saul Bass CO logo that you did put up there. Maybe if we kept the CO font on the "UNITED" and put the Saul Bass CO logo right next to it, it would make it seem less empty. Maybe a new logo being a reflection of this could work (with one side reflecting the other to make a "U" or even a globe!)

Speaking of Saul Bass (and I apologize if I seem to be taking your thread off topic), it's amazing to see how many corporate Identities of the 1960s-1980s he was known to have made, including the CO "Meatball" and the UAL Tulip, as well as the original Frontier livery!

Hey, model plane manufactures, how about some Braniff PZL 230Fs.

I was thinking fading it would look better. Im not sure what color would look best without making the globe look weird, maybe the navy blue as above, or a navy blue to grey fade.

Yeah that's the one, I was referring to. I can see that, I meant to say that both the logo could be collaborated even better, instead of the white stripes covering the CO globe.

I checked on MAP.net and saw these examples. Below I like the European style rear part of the scheme, Don't find the TITLES match though.

FRONT AFT GREY TITLES

REAR AFT BLUE TAIL, combined with the Front above. Would look good. But that's just me.

I agree, that looks great, maybe just use navy blue instead of the shade that designer used. To bad United doesnt have a look at some of these designs instead of going with the Continental scheme and logo.

And in the last design, I really love how the tullip was modified to resemble the meatball

I like your first one for first post. Maybe you can send it to United and see what they think.

Thats a good idea, but also that would just be a waste of time, Im sure they could care less about what people think the livery should be...All they really care about is the almighty dollar. Though I do wish that they listened to peoples opinions, I have read that numerous people; including employees and frequent flyers, have protested abandoning the tullip in favor of the globe.
So...as they say, wish in one hand, s**t in the other and see which fills up first

Alaska Airlines has asked for Customer input a few times when comes to there special liveries. The "Statehood" bird was a designed by a young lady in Sitka, Alaska. So you never know...there's no harm in trying...

I would have to say United, since it is their name that will be kept, but I could be wrong
