Continental738 is flying under the radar
Air France Flight 447

Hey, you guys all know about what happened June of last year when an Air France Airbus A330 crashed in the Atlantic off the coast of Brazil en route to Paris killing all 228 on board. The pilot tubes were a factor of the crash, and therefore, had to be replaced on all of Air France's A330 and A340 fleet. People thought the plane broke up in mid-air, but investigators found out the plane broke up on impact, slamming into the Atlantic on its belly. Are people still searching for the black boxes because we'd all like to know what was the cause of the crash. The plane was flying through severe turbulence before it disappeared from radar. I think the pilots were flying too slowly through the turbulence. What do you guys think about what really happened on flight 447?

Re: Air France Flight 447

What really happened to Flight 447 is still a mystery. Pitot tube malfunction is one theory but without black box data nothing is for sure. I heard they will try to locate the black boxes again this spring.

I really hope an explanation will be found some day, it would be really concerning to have an desaster of this magnitude to be unsolved, bad for Air France, and bad for Airbus.

Re: Air France Flight 447

Could someone please lock/close/delete this thread? The AF 447 crash is already being discussed elsewhere, so it's redundant. Thanks.
