Re: Kingfisher joins Oneworld

Interesting read, i would like to see a Royal Jordanian in OW colous and Kingfisher.

This news article doesnt mention anyhting about A30-500 in Kingfishers fleet, have these now been sold? The gemini model didnt represent the 1:1 for very long.

Will kingfisher still recieve A380s or is that fantasy now too.

OW is the only alliance with partners in s.america/middle east or australia, this is why i prefer OW alliance to others, quality not quantity which Star Alliance seems to be doing.

What do you mean by A30-500?
And Kingfisher have 5 firm orders with 5 options with engine types still to be decided

Congratulations Kingfisher.

Wonder when Jet Airways will join an alliance and when Star Alliance will get a footprint on the Indian Sub-continent.

They sold all 5 A340-500's. As of now, the a380's are still on order. This will really open up India to Oneworld. With Air India soon to join the Star Alliance, Jet Airways'll probably go to Skyteam which will be important because Air France/KLM/Delta really struggle in the market.

Then - their is the AAOC - Arab Air Carriers Organisation - this is also unbinding and unofficial Arab Air Carriers Organization - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia. Think of it as a mini organisation like OPEC , and I think this organisation (the AAOC) is as close as they will ever get to joining one; following on swiftly...
Read this link for a great insight to how they run the airline in terms of a business model: Emirates business model - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Cheers!!

There is also news that oneworld and AA are in talks with a Brazilian carrier and a mainland Chinese carrier about joining the alliance, however nothing is confirmed yet.

Re: Kingfisher joins Oneworld

OneWorld and Star Alliance have both been going after China Eastern....but I have to wonder if Star Alliance now has the upper hand when China Eastern and Shanghai Airlines merged last year.

I heard that the a380s have been deferred till 2013/14. Any ideas if this is true? Wonder which routes they'll be deploying the whale-jets to. I read somewhere that it was going to be BOM-JFK?

Yes I wonder as well. Also with Air China, having stakes in CX and with the announcement of a joint venture cargo airline: Air China Cargo between CX and Air China, I wonder if Air China could possibly come to Oneworld?

Deliveries start 2014. Vijay Mallya, being the showoff he is, will probably put them on LHR, JFK and other 'global' city routes.
