Re: Kingfisher joins Oneworld
You're probably right. I wonder if LHR & JFK would be able to support a A380 service? Especially seeing that Kingfisher are just about managing with their a330 service & Air india are struggling with their non-stop JFK service. I think that Kingfisher were far too ambitious with their initial international expansion plans. Seeing that they ordered the A345 to start non-stop BLR-SFO service! maybe the 777-200lr could have worked for them?

Re: Kingfisher joins Oneworld
The A345's would have made it BLR-SFO but only if the onboard lounge/bar was removed which he refused and therefore sold off the A340-500's (and also because they were in big losses at the time). I think that the flight would have worked very well. The many pax who fly the route usually fly BLR-SIN-HKG/ICN-SFO, or BLR-FRA-SFO, which is a pretty long and tiring journey. Since their fleet is made up of mostly Airbus planes (A320's, A330's), it made sense to go with the A340. I think someone's knocked some sense into him as they seem to be expanding internationally, albeit to regional destinations like Dubai, Singapore and Hong Kong which seem to be working better.
