Re: First British Airways A318 spotted!!!

A nice image and I must say, the British Airways livery sure does suit the A318!

But a German registration? Are they only leasing them?

We NEED an A318 mould in 1:400 scale! This would look awsome!

nope they have def bought them: EADS N.V. - British Airways Buys Two Airbus A318s For London City Airport Services

i think it's due to the reason that they have been manufactured and are undergoing testing in hamburg. I'm guessing they will get the G- reg upon delivery.

Re: First British Airways A318 spotted!!!

Yes, the german registration is beacuse of where they have been bult and will get G-EUNA upon actual delivery. Between that and the soon to be delivered Embraer fleet
replacing the 146s, seeems like a good time for getting a few new pics of BA aircraft as well as the final ones of the trusty 146 fleet!

In addition to what has already been said.

The German registration on this aircraft is a Factory Registration, or a so-called Pre-Delivery registration. All aircrafts gets a temporary pre-del-reg by the "Company". N- by Boeing, F-by Airbus France and D- by Airbus Germany etc etc.

Rex... shouldn't that be D- for Airbus Germany, and G- for Airbus UK ?... you explain it concisely. LOL
