The Delta 747-400

coming soon...
Delta is matching planes to routes
First DL-Painted 744 In Dec & Other Network Info — Civil Aviation Forum | Airliners.net

It would be nice if they could have some aircraft painted heritage-style just like what the new US Airways did to their A319s.

I think it would be interesting to see a 744 with a retro Delta livery!

Re: The Delta 747-400

OH i am bursting with exitement!!!
This creates a little dilemma for me though...
see one of my rules is that when i buy an airplane it must be in current colours or whatever it was last if theyve retired the aircraft...
so i dont know if i should purchase the delta 747-100 which looks awesome and is super hard to find///or wait for this one...and there no guarantee of ever having the 747 400 as a 1/500 scale model...

Rules were meant to be broken, soooo get them both! You won't regret it at all.

If that's your rule, what do you do with your models when the airline changes it's livery?

Re: The Delta 747-400

Will undoubtedly be represented in 1:400 scale before too long. Gemini Jets has been cranking out the Delta fleet in their new colors at a rather fast pace. They released one of the 777-232LR and 737-732 within two months of those aircraft entering Delta's fleet. The only exceptions are the MD-88's and MD-90-30's, not one has been released in any of Delta's past or present colors in the 1:400 scale to date. When they finally do arrive on the scene, they will more than likely dissapear like candy on Holloween.

Re: The Delta 747-400

It looks so weird on a 747, either on a A330 I think. Damn what a shame for the aviation

Goodbye lovely NWA

Supposidly there won't be an interim, NW planes will be all NW paint or all DL paint since NW is still its own company for the next year possibly two. NW will fly planes with Delta paint but it will still be NW, which makes me wonder, how confusing is it going to be for customers who see a Delta plane outside their NW gate...

either way its sad were losing a historic airline that pioneered so many more things that most airlines did. RIP NWA

Re: The Delta 747-400

Oh booo! I wanted to see a 400 painted with the classic widget. But, I would get one if they sold it in 1:400 scale.

"Normal" travelers don't even pay attention to the airplane they are on, so it definately won't be confusing.

As for the DL 744, I think everyone will definately warm up to it for sure!
